Welcome message
In the 1940s Bro L.C. Anderson, who was my Grandfather, was a minister in Eastland county, in the city of Cisco. He received the Holy Ghost and began to preach the pentecostal message. Realizing there had to be more, the Lord helped him come into contact with Bro McCluskey in Brownwood, Texas, pastor of a Pentecostal church, and a life long fellowship began.
Bro McCluskey and Bro Anderson went to their first Camp Meeting in 1945 in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Other great men of God came and helped Bro Anderson build a strong church in the 1950s and 1960s. Bro Anderson pastored the church in Cisco for 20 years. During this time, Bro Williams was the associate pastor and served this church with great faithfulness and zeal. The words of God that were planted by Bro Williams and ministers that came after him are still growing today. Many have worked this field over the years to bring this church to where we are today. In 2001, we again opened the doors of the little church on 1000 Ave. A, and began to carry on Bro Anderson’s message of hope and salvation. On September 2, 2011 we had our first Sunday service in the new church building. We were very blessed to receive help from many craftsmen and laborers, from churches across Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and other parts of the country, to build our new church on 9142 Highway 6, in Cisco.
Our mission is to offer hope to the lost in our community, proclaiming that Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith, (Hebrews 12:2), to shine our light in this world, to provide a safe haven and an environment of tranquility for families, to respect and value the wisdom of our seasoned saints, and to proclaim liberty from sin through the mercy and grace proclaimed in the Word of God.
On the foundation laid by Jesus Christ, to be a part of the body of Christ, we are earnestly contending for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. We desire to continue the tradition of faithful saints and ministers over the past fifty years that have labored to help all of God’s people come and experience the love and grace of God. Our dedicated Sunday school teachers work diligently to teach the Bible stories of faith to the early youth, to create a desire to learn more about our Heavenly Father. Our annual vacation Bible school program is a special event promoting different crafts and activities, focusing on the process of salvation, by accepting Jesus as their personal savior.
Our youth are encouraged to be true Christians and ambassadors for Christ among their classmates, friends, and family. This is a difficult time in their lives, the struggles and temptations are real. We support the youth with activities and trips to camp meetings and youth conventions. They are encouraged to make new friends and fellowship other young people from churches all over the world. We are thankful for dedicated youth leaders and other ministers of the Gospel that help in guiding our youth in making godly decisions that will effectively transform their lives. It is a blessing to watch the youth develop into respectable and responsible adults as they get older, becoming good citizens, choosing to stay connected to the church and have a desire to raise their own children in the service of the Lord.
With our faithful dedicated senior saints, committed youth, young adults, ministerial staff and our advisory committee, we promote hope and accountability and stand strong with all believers that the message of Christ the only true Savior, will stay alive in our community.
We invite you to come worship with us as we travel through this life, our destination being eternal life with our Lord.
Bro Dennis McClure (pastor)
